'Whether it is preparing for forthcoming exams or studying for a next day unit test, looking at the distraction in today\'s life, it is difficult to constantly motivate yourself and commit to studying for long hours. Many of you would agree that ‘getting started’ is the most difficult amongst other challenges. Well, there is no strategy that works for this and instead it is a simple logic. For instance, if you need to reach Delhi from Mumbai on your feet, how will you do it? Obviously you won’t run continuously right? So, you will run for a short distance, say 10 Kms and then take a 2 hour break and then again 10 kms and then a night halt and will repeat the same until you reach your destination. Similarly, one of the most effective way to motivate yourself to study is breaking the process in small manageable parts and taking a break in between. Also, make and achieve small goals, which will in turn help you to achieve your ultimate goal. For eg: If you need to cover 2 chapter of Physics, divide your goals and each chapter in parts. Take a 10 minute break after studying every half an hour, and then again study and concentrate on the next topic in the next half an hour. You will see that you are able to finish the chapter in no time. And the best part is that once this way of getting things done gets imbibed in your subconscious mind, you will automatically start yielding results and studying would be fun.
