Today I will be talking about and showing you how to store away long term food storage using Mylar bags with oxygen absorbers and food grade buckets! Food grade buckets and Mylar bags are a great way to store long term food for 20+ years. I hope this video helps give you some ideas for your own buckets. There are different ways to pack food grade buckets but this is what I find works best for me and I will give you my reasoning behind it. Any dry, low-fat foods can be stored in mylar bags such as: dried beans, rice, pasta, flour, cereal, sugar, grains, powdered milk, spices and dehydrated fruits and vegetables. Remember each food has its own long term length in which it will last. Note: Do not use oxygen absorbers for sugar, salt, baking soda and baking powder as they will turn rock hard when used with oxygen absorbers. Tip: It\'s always best to play it safe by using more oxygen absorbers than you think you need. Using more oxygen absorbers won\'t impact the food. Tip: You need a temperature of around 375-425 degrees F to get a good seal.
