
'Pittu or Puttu is a Sri Lankan and South Indian food that is very popular breakfast or dinner among the two countries. Pittu is an entre that is made by mixing grated coconut with rice flour and salt to taste. Small amounts of water is added and then mixed in circular motion to create small florets that are then steamed using a Pittu Maker. I have used the hands many times to make them but then tried the food processor which made the task easier and faster. You need to use the pulse setting so that the coconut will not be powdered.
