'5 DELICIOUS DINNER RECIPES to support your weight loss: https://www.chefaj.com/5-delicious-low-fat-dinner-recipes ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ MY LATEST BESTSELLING BOOK: https://www.amazon.com/dp/1570674086?tag=onamzchefajsh-20&linkCode=ssc&creativeASIN=1570674086&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1GNPDCAG4A86S ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I struggled with weight issues my entire life and tried diet after diet since early childhood. I didn’t realize until many years later that my real issue was with food addiction which stemmed from eating the Standard American Diet. My health didn’t begin to suffer from my poor eating habits until my late 30s when I developed a host of chronic illnesses associated with eating what was basically by then a fast-food diet. And along with those came a bag full of pills. Finally at age 40, I attended the Mcdougall 10-day program in 2003 where I was able to get off all my prescription medications and began reversing years of damage. It would still take two more years before I finally recognized what I was recovering from was processed food addiction. Since first experiencing the “calm, stable brain” Chef AJ often speaks of, things have been much better but there have still been pitfalls and missteps because the world we live in is designed to keep us hooked. My journey hasn’t been a straight line as I’ve lost weight, regained some of it and lost it again. I’ve learned that obtaining the correct knowledge is one part of the equation while putting it into practice is the much harder part. But even though I’ll always be in recovery, I’ve experienced both sides and know which side I want to be on. ----------------------------------------------------------- VIDEO CHAPTERS: 00:00 Guest introduction, Zena\'s story, and Chef AJ Q & A 0:33:04 Slide show presentation - Zena\'s Battle with Food Addiction and Recovery 1:02:22 Chef AJ and viewer Q & A including Zena\'s story about Dr. McDougall 1:07:00 Final thoughts and show wrap'See also:
