'Here\'s an attempt to re-create a popular dish seen in most so-called Chinese restaurants, even though it\'s actually American in origin. That would be General Tso\'s chicken, which is chicken stir fried, then boiled in a tasty sauce with some hot spices and a little bit of orange. Like many so-called Chinese take out dishes, this actually does not come from China, and even though General Tso really did exist, folks over in the Hunan area of China have rarely heard of this dish, and no one seems to know why it\'s named after General Tso. But of course it\'s very tasty, it\'s a change from the usual chicken stir fry, and it wasn\'t hard to make at all, especially when using a cast iron wok. The recipe for this dish can be seen on my Web site, Cast Iron Chaos, at: http://www.modemac.com/wiki/General_Tso_Chicken_Stir_Fry This stir fry was prepared in a typical American kitchen, with an electric stove that doesn\'t even come close to the blasting stoves used in Chinese restaurants. That\'s why this video features a heavy Lodge cast iron wok, which works especially well on an electric stove.
