I received this product as a gift, and am overall very pleased with it. I was actually looking for a similar item recently, and was unable to find something that I liked. This tray is compact, so my almost 4 year old is not crowded in her seat while it is on her lap. The tray has clips that attach to the base of the carseat, to help keep it in place. The strap is adjustable, so it doesn\'t have to be tightly attached to the child. The tray includes a snack cup (and an indentation in the top of the tray to hold it in place), and a removable cover that fits into the top surface. The tray is not hard, molded plastic, which I assume is for safety (in case of an accident, you wouldn\'t want something molded or hard hitting your child). My daughter loves to use it, even on short trips, to hold her snack or toys. It would be perfect for long trips, to hold books, toys, snacks, meals, DVD player, etc. Great addition for us!.'
