'Quekiam is a Chinese dish made with ground meat (pork or chicken), chinese five spice, grated vegetables and wrapped in tofu skin then served with chilli sauce. This dish is also known as Kikiam in Philippines and Ngoh Hiang in Singapore. In Cebu, they made their own version of Kikiam or Quekiam and called it Ngohiong but instead of using tofu skin to wrap the filling, Cebuanos use spring roll or lumpia wrapper. The combination of spices from the Chinese five spice gives this spring roll distinct smell and taste. If you are not used to it, you may find it overpowering so I decided to just use 1 tsp. for this recipe. If you have an adventurous taste buds, feel free to add more. Initially, I didn\'t like the taste of it but I\'ve gotten used to it now.
