'If you enjoy my videos, please like and follow my channel. I have been freeze drying foods in my Harvest Right Home Freeze Dryer for long term prepping food supplies and pantry storage. My family has been gifting me many dozens of free range chicken eggs, so I am taking advantage of the windfall and freeze drying most of them. I have put up to 20 scrambled eggs in each tray but after 33 hrs they still needed 2 more hrs of drying time. So now I use 14-18 per tray and pre freeze them in the HR trays. If pre frozen solid, you can turn your HR unit on and let it cool for 30 minutes then put the trays in and reset the freeze time to 1.5 hours. Keep the vacuum dry time at the HR preset time. If you put more than 18 eggs in, add at least an hr more to the vacuum time. Check the bottom of the eggs carefully for \"cold\" to the touch or dampness, when in doubt, put back in, reset dry to 1-1.5 hrs and freeze time to zero. Make sure they are bone dry. I put the crumbled eggs in a plastic bowl and use a ladle or a a small bowl and press the eggs until they are in a powdered crystal form, vacuum seal in mason jars (put a paper cupcake liner on the top of the eggs to prevent the eggs from being sucked up in the hose). You can also seal them in Mylar bags, but put eggs in a plain plastic bag, unsealed and folded over first. This will prevent eggs getting inside the hose. If that happens, just remove one end of the Food Savers hose and blow it out. My son in Law scrambles and cooks his eggs prior to freeze drying. Great snack on the go.
