'Circular City Week: Reducing food loss and waste - a business no brainer'
37:06 Mar 5, 2022
'When food is lost or wasted, it’s not only the end product that is wasted, but also all the resources that went into producing the food. Globally, one-third of all food is lost or wasted. This equals 1.6 billion tons of food and worth of approximately $1.2 trillion according to a Boston Consulting Group report from 2018. Reducing food loss and waste is therefore not only a necessary step towards sustainable development, but also a good business model. Since the Danish start-up company Too Good To Go launched its app in 2016, 63.3 million meals from 76,595 cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, bakeries, hotels and more have already been saved by more than 33.3 million users all over the world. Food Nation invites you to watch our talk from Circular City Week 2021 on March 22, where you will hear about Too Good To Go’s food waste mission entering the American market in November 2020 and the future plans for their expansion and how they every day are working towards a planet with no food waste. Speakers: Gaeleen Quinn, East Coast Director, Too Good To Go Lise Walbom, CEO, Food Nation Read more about Food Nation: https://foodnationdenmark.com/'
