'This is an awesome way to use up leftover stale or day old bread You can eat it with a vanilla cream sauce or vanilla ice cream Another simple and easy recipe RECIPE FOR CUSTARD 2 quarts sliced crescent rolls (you can use brioche bread too) 6 eggs, beaten 4cups milk 1 cup white sugar 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon(optional) 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Directions Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Slice or dice bread into small pieces into an 8 inch square baking pan. . If desired, sprinkle with raisins. In a medium mixing bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla. Beat until well mixed. Pour over bread, and lightly push down with a fork until bread is covered and soaking up the egg mixture. ( you can also heat the milk and sugar and then add the eggs to it )Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top springs back when lightly tapped.
